Upstream Investment Banking Analyst Internship - Summer 2025

We are seeking an Investment Banking Analyst Intern to join our team in Houston for Summer 2025. The primary focus of the internship will be upstream, but you will also get some exposure to midstream and oilfield services. Interns will work on a variety of transactions including corporate mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, initial public offerings, equity capital markets and private capital raises. You will learn from and work with highly talented and dedicated professionals who will give you broad exposure to the
many different issues and concerns affecting businesses today.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial modeling and analysis including net asset valuations, discounted cash flow, precedent transactions, public trading comparables, merger consequences (accretion / dilution), synergies analysis, etc. within the traditional energy sector.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, conduct market research, and assist in the preparation of reports to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Due Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by analyzing financial statements, assessing business risks, and identifying key value drivers.
  • Pitch Preparation: Assist in the creation of client presentations, pitch books, and other materials to communicate investment opportunities to clients.
  • Data Management: Organize and maintain data related to potential and ongoing transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Deal Execution: Coordinate and oversee the operational aspects of financial transactions to ensure smooth implementation of investment strategies in the investment banking sector.

Specific Qualifications

  • Available for June start date
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
  • Possess basic knowledge of and a keen interest in finance and the markets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases
