Webinar Replay: Lessons Learned from the 1973 Oil Embargo and How It Applies to Today

Josh Martin and Dan Pickering host a discussion with Dr. Jim Krane to explore the lessons that can be learned from the 1973 oil embargo and how those lessons might be relevant in today's complex geopolitical environment.

In this webinar, Dan Pickering, CIO of Pickering Energy Partners, and Josh Martin, Managing Director of the Research team at Pickering Energy Partners, hosted a discussion with Dr. Jim Krane, an expert in Energy Studies at Rice University's Baker Institute. Together, they explored the lessons that can be learned from the 1973 oil embargo and how those lessons might be relevant in today's complex geopolitical environment. They had a conversation about the broader perspective on oil and the impacts of recent political and military events in the Middle East on the world.

In addition, Dr. Krane recently organized a conference on this subject, which featured prominent figures such as His Royal Highness Prince Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, a former Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, and the Honorable James A. Baker, III, who serves as the honorary chair of the Baker Institute and is a former secretary of state. The conference also included other former policymakers, industry leaders, and academics.
