Graham Conway, Ph.D. is a Director at Pickering Energy Partners (PEP), leading sustainability consulting and advocacy for industrial sectors.
Previously, Dr. Conway spent 10 years at Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) in San Antonio, TX, where he led the low-carbon technology engineering group. He managed commercial and government-funded R&D projects focused on decarbonization, including internal combustion engines, life-cycle analysis, carbon capture, and hydrogen fuel cells. He also led SwRI’s consulting program, helping clients navigate global regulations and credit frameworks in automotive and transportation.
Before SwRI, Dr. Conway worked in Jaguar Land Rover’s advanced combustion group and served as lead concept engineer for Shanghai Automotive Industrial Corporation (SAIC) in the UK.
He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Leeds and Bachelor’s and Master’s engineering degrees from Oxford Brookes University.
Dr. Conway serves on the advisory board of the Transportation Energy Institute, the editorial board of an Elsevier journal, and as a session chair and organizer for the Society of Automotive Engineers. He has authored or co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed papers and holds eight U.S. patents.
